What we do
High-quality, accessible experiences that build real skills
We design and deliver programmes that put creativity, innovation and digital technology in young people's hands. A classroom project, an after-school club, a residency, a careers experience — the format varies, but the aim doesn't: real skills, and the confidence to take them somewhere.
Skills
Creativity, innovation and digital skills
We build creative and digital capability, and the curiosity to use it. Our programmes have spanned coding and physical computing, robotics, animation, filmmaking, music technology, AI and generative tools. Always hands-on, so young people finish with something they've made and a sense of what they're capable of.
Examples: Digital Kids, a family programme of inclusive, hands-on digital making co-developed with the V&A; a robotics-and-art project making drawings with machines; a punk-inspired music-technology residency with the BFI.
Pathways
Enrichment and future pathways
Not all the best learning happens in a lesson. Our clubs, holiday programmes and careers experiences give young people room to be curious, to meet people doing creative and technical work for a living, and to see routes into industries that can feel closed to them. It's often where confidence grows fastest.
Examples: Life Bytes, a digital-skills and careers programme for 15–24s with Big Creative Academy; coding and robotics clubs; an iPad orchestra performing live at the Mozilla Festival.
Accreditation
Arts Award and accreditation
We help young people gain recognised creative qualifications, and we help schools strengthen their creative offer. That includes supporting Arts Award delivery and working with schools on the kind of sustained creative practice that underpins Artsmark.
Educators
Working with educators
Some of our most valuable work is with the adults around young people. We design and deliver professional development, create teaching resources, and lead courses and CPD — online and in person — that help educators build confidence with creativity, digital technology and inclusive practice.
Francesca's wider career includes developing programmes for educators, producing conferences, convening cultural education alliances and consortia, and working with music education hubs. Together we've developed creative-computing CPD with partners including Trinity College London. The aim is always practical: something a teacher can use on Monday morning.
Progression
Growing new talent
We don't just work with young people — we bring them through. Alongside our programmes runs a strand of mentoring and progression: first paid assistant roles, meaningful volunteering, guidance, and a route into the creative and digital sector. It's how we practise the equity we talk about.
Partnerships
Programme design and partnerships
Much of our work happens before delivery starts. We design and produce creative learning programmes, and we broker the partnerships that make them possible — connecting schools with cultural institutions, funders and specialists. We also help other organisations build their own capacity and networks. It's the difference between a one-off activity and something that lasts.
Our approach
Accessible, inclusive, high-quality
Everything we do is built to be accessible, inclusive and high-quality, and to leave young people with more than a finished project. We care about what stays after the kit is packed away: the confidence to back yourself, and to take opportunity on fairer terms. So we plan around the young people actually in the room, and we work closely with the people who know them best.
